KEANE STAR ADMITS DRUG ADDICTION
LATEST: KEANE frontman TOM CHAPLIN has confessed addictions to alcohol and cocaine are the reasons the British band have cancelled a string of gigs across Europe. The singer previously cited exhaustion for the ditched shows in Spain, Scotland and Ireland beginning later this month (AUG06), but now reveals he's checked into celebrity rehabilitation clinic The Priory to overcome his problems. Chaplin was admitted to the centre last Monday (14AUG06) but was temporarily released to perform at this weekend's (19-20AUG06) V Festivals in Staffordshire and Essex. He says, "I've admitted myself to The Priory to get the professional help I need to overcome my increasing problem with drink and drugs. "I'm looking forward to sorting myself out and getting back to playing again as soon as possible."
