KEANE 'ENJOYING SMALLER GIGS'
KEANE have been enjoying the experience of smaller gigs, where they feel the music can do the talking.
The band recently played a trio of intimate gigs at London's 100 Club to launch their new album PERFECT SYMMETRY.
Drummer Richard Hughes told the BBC he has been enjoying the return to smaller venues and the atmosphere they offer.
"You've got no lighting gags or big TV screens. No smoke and mirrors, it's just music," he said.
The trio drafted in a fourth member in the shape of guitarist Jesse Quinn, which meant they were not so reliant on technology to create their live sound.
However, Richard said he is unsure if Jesse will become a permanent fixture of the band, saying: "We'll have to see how we all feel. He might not want to after six months in a tour bus with us."
The band are planning to use a string quartet for their show at Koko on October 23rd, as part of the BBC Electric Proms.
