KATONA GIVEN TILL AUGUST TO AVOID BANKRUPTCY

Kerry Katona has been given till August to pay off a £417,000 outstanding tax bill.

The high court has given the former Atomic Kitten until August 7th to pay off the bill, MSN UK reports.

Katona's lawyer, Luke Harris, earlier claimed that the 27-year-old reality star could not pay the full amount due to "changed circumstances".

"She had not been able to earn the money [at an earlier court hearing] but on this occasion she has earned it," he said.

"She's also strenuously seeking to remortgage her properties. But if the money comes in there is no need. I would ask for one final indulgence by the court."

Katona was originally given ten weeks to pay off the tax bill.
