The glamour model - who is expected to make a late return to the show where she met former husband Peter Andre - is said to have infuriated current boyfriend Alex Reid by telling him she wants to see attractive men in the jungle.

A source said: "Virtually Katie's last words to Alex were, 'I hope there's some eye candy in there.' It was her way of annoying him and he certainly achieved her aim.

"He's been really paranoid since. He really thinks she will stray and doesn't want to look a fool."

The desperate cage fighter was so keen to halt his lover's potential antics he even offered to appear on the show for free.

He is quoted by Britain's News of the World newspaper as saying: "It would be great to surprise Katie by going on the show. The nation could see what we're like as a couple and it would stop any guys making a move on her."

Meanwhile, Stuart Manning and Sabrina Washington are being tipped for a jungle romance after astounding show bosses with their flirtatious behaviour.

A source said: "Sparks were flying Stuart was following her everywhere."

Ahead of the start of the programme, Sabrina - who shot to fame performing in girl group Mis-Teeq - had said she was looking for love.

She said: "I am single, so it would be nice to have some eye candy around the place."
