KATIE PRICE: DIVORCE FROM PETER ANDRE IS NOT MY DECISION

Model Katie Price has said she is devastated at husband Peter Andre's decision to divorce her after four years of marriage.

It was confirmed yesterday that the couple - who met on I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! - were to separate with a statement from their management company asking that the media respect the couple's privacy.

However, Price - also known as Jordan - has broken her silence to insist the split was not her choice and that her singer husband had ended the relationship.

"Pete is the love of my life and my life," she said in a statement.

"We have children together and I am devastated and disappointed by his decision to separate and divorce me, as I married him for life.

"This is not what I want and the decision has been taken out of my hands."

She added: "I will not comment further or do any interviews regarding the separation but I will always love my Pete."

Though there has been speculation over the state of the couple's marriage for several months, the split is thought to have come after pictures of a drunken
Price - seemingly flirting with another man - appeared in the press.

Andre - famed for his 90s hit Mysterious Girl - yesterday declared his estranged wife was "out of control".

"I'm not jealous of anybody until Katie's drunk," he told the Sun newspaper.

"There's nobody I feel threatened by when she's sober.

"But if she's been drinking I know she's capable of anything. The devil gets inside her and she's a nightmare."

Bookmakers are currently offering odds of 2-1 that the couple will be reunited by the end of the year.

PR guru Max Clifford commented: "Plenty of people are asking how long it will be until we read about their emotional reunion and how much, deep down, they really love each other."

They are parents to three-year-old son Junior and daughter Princess Tiamii, who is nearly two. Price also has a six-year-old son, Harvey, from her relationship with footballer Dwight Yorke.
