KATHERINE JENKINS BOOED AT HARRODS
Opera singer Katherine Jenkins was booed by anti-fur protestors after arriving at Harrods to open its winter sale.
Campaigners shouted "shame on Katherine" as she arrived in a horse drawn carriage to launch the famous sale.
However, cheers from queuing bargain-hunters drowned out the boos as Katherine was taken into the store.
The Welsh singer was drafted in after Leona Lewis pulled out due to her stance on fur.
Harrods is one of the only big UK stores to sell imported fur, protestors claim.
Campaigner John Wilson, from the Coalition to Abolish the Fur Trade, told the BBC: "We are gathered here today because of our disgust at Ms Jenkins who professes to be against animal cruelty and the fur trade."
Ms Jenkins told reporters she does not personally wear fur, but added "people are entitled to their opinions."
