KASABIAN TALK NEW ALBUM
KASABIAN have been discussing their forthcoming album, which is to be released later this year.
According to the Leicester band, the follow-up to 2006's EMPIRE will be an eclectic mix of influences.
Speaking to BBC 6 Music, guitarist Serge Pizzorno said the new album has been structured to resemble a "soundtrack".
"You hear it in a row. It takes you places and you build pictures in your head. It's a real journey and it also will fill a dance floor. It's about people joining in and I think that's what we're about," he said.
Revealing some of the influences that found their way on to the album, Serge said there were shades of THE ROLLING STONES, DAFT PUNK and THE CLASH on various tracks.
Dan 'The Automator' Nakamura who has worked with the likes of GORILLAZ and HANDSOME BOY MODELING SCHOOL has produced the band's new record.
Meanwhile, organisers at The Astoria are hoping KASABIAN and THE WHO will play at club's closing party.
