KAREN O UNVEILS SIDE PROJECT
YEAH YAEH YEAHS frontwoman Karen O has unveiled her new side project NATIVE KOREAN ROCK.
The singer performed two gigs with the new outfit at the Union Pool in Brooklyn on Monday night (July 21st).
Around 100 fans snapped up tickets for the low-key shows, which saw O singing folky love songs whilst perched on the hull of a model boat, reports the NME.
Following the shows, O told the NME that the new project was purely for fun, saying: "I felt really nostalgic about playing love songs in New York in the summer because its pretty much what I did before the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
"It's just what I felt like doing right now so I don't think there will be any more shows like this.
The main thing I'm concentrating on is the new Yeah Yeah Yeahs record, which we've been working on for a while and it's nearly done.
She added that the Yeah Yeah Yeahs new album should be ready for release next year.
