FRANZ FERDINAND star ALEX KAPRANOS has discovered a huge benefit to recording for Epic - he gets access to the private restaurant at the top of New York's Sony building. The Scottish rocker, who penned food guide SOUND BITES: EATING ON TOUR WITH FRANZ FERDINAND, has been enjoying the culinary delights of New York while living and working in the city recently - and one of his highlights came when he discovered Sony's best kept secret. He explains, "They have a private restaurant up at the top with leather banquettes, silver cutlery, and the most astonishing views of Manhattan. "You can look down into (illusionist) DAVID COPPERFIELD's penthouse apartment from the restaurant. I had lentil soup to start with, then seared scallops, and there were petits fours and espresso to finish."
