KAISER CHIEFS 'NOT OFFENDED' BY NOEL GALLAGHER REMARKS

Kaiser Chiefs have accused Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher of publicity seeking after he criticised the Leeds band.

The I Predict A Riot stars headlined the 4Music stage at last weekend's V festival but according to Gallagher, the five-piece sound like 60s group the Monkees.

Speaking to Radio 1's Chris Moyles last week Gallagher joked that the Monkees had not split up and were "just going under the name of the Kaiser Chiefs".

He added: "I did drugs for 18 years and I never got that bad as to say, 'You know what? I think the Kaiser Chiefs are brilliant'."

But Kaiser Chiefs drummer Nick Hodgson laughed off Gallagher's comments, saying: "We're definitely not offended."

He told Radio 1 Newsbeat: "I do actually like it, I think it's a bit of sport.

"It is funny though," he went on, "because it does happen [Gallagher criticising other bands] every single time they put out an album. And the last two albums it's been us [who have been targeted]."

Hodgson joked: "When I was 17 and Noel was going on about Blur I was watching it, and now I'm 30 and he's 50 and he's talking about us, it's brilliant."

Oasis' seventh album Dig Out Your Soul is released on October 6th.
