KAISER CHIEFS LAUGH OFF GALLAGHER INSULTS

KAISER CHIEFS have laughed off NOEL GALLAGHER's claims they sound like THE MONKEES, insisting they are more amused than offended by the rocker's jibes.
The Oasis guitarist hit the headlines last week (beg11Aug08) when he remarked that the 1960s pop quartet hadn't split up, "they're just going under the name of the Kaiser Chiefs".
His rant continued: "I did drugs for 18 years and I never got that bad as to say, 'You know what? I think the Kaiser Chiefs are brilliant'."
But the I Predict A Riot band insist they are far from upset about Gallagher's attack.
Drummer Nick Hodgson says, "We're definitely not offended but I do actually like it - I think it's a bit of sport.
"It is funny though because it does happen (Oasis insult another band) every single time they put out an album. And the last two albums it's been us.
"When I was 17 and Noel was going on about Blur I was watching it and now I'm 30 and he's 50 and he's talking about us, it's brilliant."
Kaiser Chiefs will release their third album, Off With Their Heads, in October (08) - the same month Oasis' seventh studio disc Dig Out Your Soul hits record stores.
