KAISER CHIEF: 'MUSIC IS SO AVERAGE NOWADAYS'
KAISER CHIEFS drummer NICK HODGSON insists the contemporary music scene is "average" compared to punk in the late 1970s, and is fed up with bands jumping on the ARCTIC MONKEYS "bandwagon".
The I PREDICT A RIOT rocker is disgusted by the way record company executives are signing up scores of "s**t" bands in a bid to recreate the record-breaking success of the I BET YOU LOOK GOOD ON THE DANCEFLOOR stars.
He says, "There's so much s**t in guitar music at the moment. You imagine an A+R man seeing this bandwagon, jumping on it and signing any old s**t with a guitar around its neck.
"I was watching this film about the RAMONES. It got me thinking how everything was so average nowadays."
