JUNGLE RESIDENTS MISSING KILROY-SILK AFTER PUBLIC VOTE RESULTS

Contestants on I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! have spoken of their fondness for Robert Kilroy-Silk after he was voted off the show.

The former TV presenter became the first celebrity to leave the Australian jungle after earning marginally more votes than ex-Metropolitan police commissioner Brian Paddick.

But while many of the celebrities bemoaned Robert's exit, David Van Day continued to irritate fellow contestants by quickly claiming Robert's bed.

"All of us were shocked I think, that it was between us two as to who was going to leave," Brian admitted, after less than 0.5 per cent of the vote separated him and Robert from leaving the ITV1 programme.

Dani Behr, meanwhile, described Robert as "a real tour de force".

"He's been really strong mentally and physically and he's been quite a father figure to quite a few of us in the camp so I will really miss him," she added.

Even George Takei, who had previously described Robert as a "real villain" said the MEP's exit would leave a "big hole" in the camp.

For David and Timmy Mallett, however, Robert's elimination provided a chance for them to discuss their relative positions in the camp.

"Will it change the dynamics with Robert going?" David asked. "I don't actually. It's not enough. I think it will take one or two others out."

He added that he and Timmy remained "outsiders" with certain members of the camp.

"I think it's Carly [Zucker], it's Nicola [McLean], it's Dani, possibly Simon [Webbe]," he explained.

"Need one of those… they don't know if they're on the right route you see and if one did go they'd say: 'Oh, did we get it wrong? Did we push it? Were we unfriendly?' They've got to think about their actions."

He added: "Otherwise they'll breeze along thinking they're perfectly ok and you and I know that hasn't been true."
