British actress JULIE WALTERS wants to follow in the footsteps of fellow Hollywood Brit IAN MCKELLEN and swap Tinseltown for a small screen soap opera. MCKellen fulfilled a lifetime's ambition in 2005 when he made a series of guest appearances in longrunning British soap CORONATION STREET. Walters is also a fan of the show and is urging producers to get in touch. The Oscar-nominee says, "Corrie was the very first thing I watched, from the age of 11. That's why it's my favourite. I'm very tempted. I wonder if they would ask me."
