JOY DIVISION WERE ASKED TO REFORM FOR NEW BIOPIC PREMIERE
Former JOY DIVISION bassist PETER HOOK was stunned to be asked to reform the band recently - lead singer IAN CURTIS has been dead for 27 years.
Hook was asked if the band could perform at the U.S. premiere of Control, a new movie about Joy Division frontman Curtis.
He explains, "Someone from the film's U.S. distributor's office phoned up saying that the New York premiere was on September 25 and would Joy Division play?
"I replied, 'Well, the last I heard, the lead singer was dead but I'll give them a ring and see if anything has changed.'"
Curtis committed suicide in 1980.
