JOY DIVISION DOCUMENTARY TO PREMIERE AT TORONTO FILM FESTIVAL
Grammy-nominated concert film director GRANT GEE is to premiere his much-anticipated JOY DIVISION documentary at the Toronto International Film Festival next month (Sep07).
Co-written by acclaimed British journalist and writer Jon Savage, the film documents the rise of the cult British group and features interviews with the surviving band members, who went on to form New Order following the suicide of singer Ian Curtis.
The film also features never-before-seen live performance footage and newly discovered audio tapes.
Gee's venture won't be the only film to focus on Joy Division this year - celebrated photographer Anton Corbijn has made an acclaimed biopic about Curtis' tragic life, called Control.
