JONES: 'THE MONKEES WERE CONSTANTLY FIGHTING'
THE MONKEES may have been singing about 'monkeying around' on their records, but behind the scenes the pop stars were constantly at war with one another, according to singer DAVY JONES.
The Daydream Believer hitmakers were brought together on U.S. TV show The Monkees in 1966, and despite their apparent friendship on screen, there was a lot of in-fighting among the four bandmates: Jones, Michael Nesmith, Micky Dolenz and Peter Tork.
Jones recalls, "There were always punch-ups going on. The only fight that didn't happen was between me and Mike Nesmith; Pete and I certainly did."
