JONES SHUNS RETIREMENT

Veteran crooner TOM JONES is happy to turn 70 next year (10) - because he has no plan to hang up his microphone and retire.
The Welsh legend will hit the milestone in June, but instead of eyeing retirement he is enjoying the ongoing success of his career.
And the Delilah hitmaker insists age has not taken its toll on his body - his famous vocals are stronger than ever.
He says, "I've just got to be pleased that I've come this far, you know. I'm going to be 70 next year, I think it's great. Some people go 'Ooh, getting older' and this, that and the other. I mean, what's the alternative?
"The older I get... I enjoy what I've done and what's happened through my career, you know, so I've got a lot of memories. But I mean my voice is still strong and I love going on stage because I love to sing. Even if I wasn't a professional singer, I'd be singing anyway because that's the way it is."
