JONES REVEALS WIFE'S AGORAPHOBIA HELL

Veteran crooner TOM JONES' wife suffers with such paralysing agoraphobia, she is forced to take tranquilisers to deal with the outside world.
The Delilah legend has been married to partner Linda for 51 years, but she has kept a backseat role in his media life - leaving the star to travel the world and enjoy the glamorous lifestyle while she is holed up at their palatial Los Angeles home.
And despite having a reported $285 million (£190 million) in the bank to play with, the 67-year-old star's wife stays at home and carries out daily cleaning chores.
Jones reveals Linda's fear of socialising has become so bad, she has to take pills to cope with it.
He explains, ""(My life at home is) very different. My wife used to come on the road with me and when I went home we would go out and all that. But she doesn't want to any more. She's got this problem with people, you see: she doesn't like to socialise. It makes her very anxious and she has to take tranquilisers and that. Sometimes she says, 'You don't know how lucky you are, not to be bothered by people.'
"But if she stays in, she's fine. Sometimes I get her to come out in the car with me and we'll just have a little drive around. In fact, quite recently she said to me, 'I'm enjoying this. It's no big deal is it?' And I said, 'But I told you! People are only people.' But then she gets frightened again.
"So it's as if I have two completely different parts of my life - on the road where I do concerts and at home where I'm with her. In Los Angeles, we have a cook and a maid and a man who looks after the place. That's basically her world."
