JONES PLOTS COMEBACK WITH WINEHOUSE AND NASH HITMAKERS

TOM JONES has teamed up with the hitmakers behind AMY WINEHOUSE and KATE NASH's hits to record a comeback album - his first CD of new material for 15 years.
The 68-year-old Welsh singer will release 24 Hours in November (08) after spending studio time with British production duo Future Cat.
And the It's Not Unusual hitmaker, who has become a regular performer in Las Vegas in recent years, insists he's been working on a retro soul sound for some time.
He tells the Associated Press, "Amy Winehouse cracked it. When that album (Back To Black) came out, my son called me right away and said, 'You know what we've been talking about? Listen to this.'"
And Jones hopes his new album will put him back in the American charts.
He adds, "The hits that I've had recently have all been European. I've had a lot of success worldwide, which is a pain because I live here and I do most of my shows in America... Hopefully this will straighten that out."
24 Hours features covers of Bruce Springsteen's The Hitter and I'm Alive by Tommy James and the Shondells and a guest appearance from U2 stars Bono and the Edge on new song Sugar Daddy.
