JONES OFFERS NO ANSWERS TO LED ZEPPELIN REUNION CONFUSION
LED ZEPPELIN bass player JOHN PAUL JONES has added to the confusion about the rock supergroup's future, revealing he has no idea if the band will reunite for more dates. Jones, Robert Plant and Jimmy Page came together in December (07) for a one-off tribute concert performance in London and fans have been waiting for what they feel is an inevitable world tour announcement ever since. But, apart from a promise to consider a tour after Plant concludes touring commitments with new musical partner Alison Krauss, there's no definite news from Led Zeppelin. And now Jones admits he's as puzzled about future plans as fans are. Speaking at the Folk Awards in London on Monday (04Feb08), the rocker said, "I am obliged to say we have absolutely no idea of what we are going to be doing." The comment comes a month after Page told a press conference in Japan that the supergroup was "musically ready" to go on a world tour. And Plant recently told reporters at a New York Knicks basketball game, "You never know what is around the corner."
