JONES HOPING TO OPEN MUSEUM

Former THE CLASH guitarist MICK JONES is planning to turn his collection of pop memorabilia into a permanent museum exhibition.
The rocker has amassed an enormous archive of customised stage clothes, instruments, recording gear, posters and song lyrics and is currently displaying his treasured items in a London exhibition called the Rock and Roll Public Library.
And Jones is eager to find a long-lasting home for the pieces once the show ends on 18 April (09).
He says, "Ultimately I'd like to have a permanent place to exhibit the whole collection like a museum, like a library where you can come and see the stuff and maybe get a copy or sit there and read it. I also would like to bring artists there because it's history really."
