JONES CELEBRATES 'MIRACULOUS' RECOVERY

MONTY PYTHON star TERRY JONES is celebrating after he was given the all-clear following his recent battle with cancer. The writer/director was diagnosed with bowel cancer last month (OCT06) and forced to undergo emergency surgery to remove a growth. But he's delighted doctors have expressed confidence he's now free of the disease. Jones, 64, says, "I feel great. I've fully recovered. It's miraculous. "They got it early and the operation went well. It's amazing really. I'm already going for walks and pints in the pub." The comedian was told he had cancer only days before the opening of the SPAMALOT musical in London (17OCT06), which is based on the classic MONTY PYTHON AND THE HOLY GRAIL film. Despite the diagnosis, Jones was able to attend the premiere with the original cast, which included MICHAEL PALIN, ERIC IDLE and TERRY GILLIAM.
