JOLIE'S MULTICULTURAL HOLIDAYS
Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie has said that she and her partner Brad Pitt try to celebrate the holiday festivals of all their adopted children.
The 32-year-old star has a biological daughter, Shiloh, with Pitt and has taken over the daily care of three children from the developing countries of Vietnam, Ethiopia and Cambodia.
Jolie told the television show Good Morning America that she tried to make each of her children's holidays special.
She said: "We celebrate Moon Festival for my boys, who are from Asia, and Kwanzaa and things like that. We certainly try to celebrate as many of those as we can, and celebrate all culture."
The Tomb Raider actress was also eager to play down how skilled she was at cooking up turkey for the American holiday of Thanksgiving. She joked that everyone in the family was aware of her limited culinary skills.
"I'm not much of a cook, so we'll see what happens. I try. We all chip in. But I don't think anyone in my family wants me to handle Thanksgiving dinner," she added.
Jolie is currently promoting her new animated film Beowulf, in which she provides the voice for the picture's seductive villain, Grendel.
She told the show that she was able to identify with the aggressive yet caring side of the character in the film.
"I liked that she was a mother who would do anything and destroy anything if somebody hurt her son. It was the maternal side of me [that connected to her], and I love that that was her motivation," she added.
