JOLIE ENDORSED BY JOURNALIST'S WIDOW

Actress ANGELINA JOLIE has received the blessing of late US journalist DANIEL PEARL's widow after signing to play MARIANE in story of her husband's life. A MIGHTY HEART chronicles Mariane's search for her husband, a Wall Street Journal reporter, who was abducted by terrorists and killed in Pakistan in 2002. Mariane says, "I am delighted that Angelina Jolie will be playing my role in the adaptation of my book. "I deeply admire her work and what she is committed to." The movie, adapted from Mariane's memoirs, will begin shooting in the next month (AUG06). English director MICHAEL WINTERBOTTOM, who worked on projects WELCOME TO SARAJEVO and THE ROAD TO GUANTANAMO, is set to direct the film.
