JOHNSON TO HEADLINE AUSTRALIA'S LIVE EARTH
Surfing rocker JACK JOHNSON is set to end his year-long hiatus by headlining the Sydney, Australia leg of Live Earth concerts this summer (07).
The singer/songwriter will join reformed rockers Midnight Oil, Crowded House and Silverchair at the 7 July (07) concert, held in conjunction with similar events in London, New Jersey, Rio de Janeiro and Toyko.
Johnson, a well-known eco warrior, admits agreeing to take part in Live Earth wasn't a problem but deciding which of the concerts to play was.
The Hawaii-based star explains, "New Jersey and Australia are about the same distance for me, but Australia's waves are a lot better, so that made the decision easy."
Madonna and Genesis will co-headline the London concert at Wembley Stadium, while The Police will perform at Giants Stadium in New Jersey.
