JOHNNY TRUANT ANNOUNCE SPLIT

Brighton rockers JOHNNY TRUANT have announced they are splitting up.

The band became one of the most respected metal acts in the UK, receiving much critical acclaim for their third album NO TEARS FOR THE CREATURES, which was released earlier this year.

A statement released by the band confirmed that they will be calling it a day after their next set of live dates.

"Johnny Truant has officially broken up. We have had many amazing years and made many great friends along the way," it read.

"Thank you to everyone that has supported us and shared so many fantastic times with us, it's been a hell of a ride and one that we are very proud of."

The band urged fans to come along to their final UK dates in December, in order to make it "the biggest party we can".

The band's debut album THE REPRECUSSIONS OF A BADLY PLANNED SUICIDE was released in 2002.
