JOHNNY HALLYDAY READY TO RETURN TO FRANCE
French rocker JOHNNY HALLYDAY has vowed to return from exile in Switzerland after his friend NICOLAS SARKOZY was elected as president.
In December (06), Hallyday vowed to spend at least six months of the year in the neighbouring country, in protest against France's high taxes.
But the 63-year-old is overjoyed Sarkozy won Sunday's (06May07) election, because the new president has promised to cut taxes.
Hallyday is now preparing to return to his homeland after Sarkozy is sworn in on 17 May (07). The pair even dined together in Paris on Sunday to toast Sarkozy's victory.
Hallyday's wife Laetitia says, "Nicolas Sarkozy's policies will certainly lead us to come back to France."
