JOHN PEEL'S LONDON STUDIO TO CLOSE
The London recording studios used by late legendary DJ JOHN PEEL are set to close their doors next year (08).
The BBC are planning to close the Maida Vale studios in west London citing they are not suitable for the "21st-century digital age".
Grunge legends Nirvana and rockers The Smiths also used the recording studio before it was occupied by Peel for his radio broadcasts before his death in 2004.
Network bosses are expected sell the hallowed land to a property developer, although a final decision on the studio's fate won't be made until next year.
The BBC are yet to announce whether the studio will be replaced.
