JOHN LYDON TO STAR IN BUTTER AD

JOHN LYDON is set to appear in an advertisement for UK butter brand Country Life.

It has not yet been confirmed when the campaign for the butter will be broadcast, which is the last remaining major British brand.

According to Mad.co.uk, the former SEX PISTOLS frontman has been chosen as he is a "British Icon".

In a statement, Country Life said: "We don't think enough people know Country Life is the only major British butter brand and John gets the message through loud and clear.

"He is seen as a great British icon. His independent views are part of his consumer appeal and his tongue-in-cheek sense of humour shines through in our TV advertising."

Lydon recently clashed with FOALS over an alleged racist incident that took place in Spain.
