JOEY RAMONE'S BROTHER WRITING THE RAMONES BIOPIC
An upcoming memoir by JOEY RAMONE's brother, MICKEY LEIGH, is to be turned into a major movie about punk icons THE RAMONES.
Leigh is working on I Slept With Joey Ramone with rock writer Legs MCNeil, and, as soon as the book hits stores in December (09), filming will start on a biopic about the Blitzkrieg Bop hitmakers.
Ramone, real name Jeffrey Hyman, formed The Ramones in 1974 with John Cummings (Johnny Ramone), Thomas (Tommy Ramone) and Douglas Colvin (Dee Dee Ramone). They became the godfathers of punk.
Joey and Johnny were the constants in the group, which split in 1996. The two stars have since died.
