JOEL HOPING TO REUNITE WITH LEE?

BILLY JOEL is reportedly trying to win back his estranged wife KATIE LEE - just weeks after they officially separated.
The couple announced in June (09) they were legally separated and had plans to divorce, amid reports Joel refused to give in to the TV personality's desire to start a family.
The pair was also rocked by persistent rumours Lee was enjoying nights out with designer Yigal Azrouel.
But now a distraught Joel, 60, is desperate to woo the 27 year old once again, after his fledgling relationship with former American soap star Alex Donnelley fizzled out, reports the New York gossip column Page Six.
A source tells the publication, "Billy is obsessed with her (Lee)... Billy never wanted to go out (on dates) with her. She wanted to have fun and promote herself, so she started hanging out with Yigal."
A spokesperson for the singer confirms that the pair is still in contact and on good terms, "The split between them is amicable. They remain friendly, and they do communicate."
