JIM JONES PLEADS NOT GUILTY TO ASSAULT
Rapper JIM JONES has pleaded not guilty to allegations of assault relating to a March (09) incident with a teenage fan in Florida.
The Diplomats star is facing one count of misdemeanour battery after Damion Johns, 17, accused Jones of punching him in the face at the MTV Spring Break concert when he failed to move out of the way fast enough after being asked to by police.
Johns further alleges that after he retaliated, Jones' bodyguards threw him to the ground and attacked him.
Jones did not attend the court hearing on Friday (15May09) and his lawyer, Hoot Crawford, entered the plea on the rapper's behalf.
It's not the only legal woe Jones is facing - he's also due in court on 4 June (09) to answer another assault charge resulting from his December (08) run in with Ne-Yo's manager at the Louis Vuitton store in New York.
