JET TO TAKE BREAK FROM MUSIC
Australian rockers JET are taking a break from music after a hectic and stressful four-year promotional tour. The Are You Gonna Be My Girl stars will go their separate ways for some well-earned down-time, frontman Chris Cester reveals. Posting on the band's MySpace page, he writes, "We've just decided to take some well-earned time off. "After touring for, well, ever, we sat ourselves down and realised that, with all the time we have spent away from home, Jet could finally use some down time." The band will pursue individual musical projects during the break: Drummer Nic Cester plans to play a solo gig in Melbourne, Australia; guitarist Cam Muncey has been writing songs; while Cester and bassist Mark Wilson have been producing for Japanese band Superfly. But Cester remains positive Jet will flourish after their much-needed break. He adds, "The good news is that everyone is in high spirits and that the time off has left us with big grins and pockets full of songs. Keep it cool my babies, I'll be checking in soon."
