JESSE METCALFE VOLUNTEERS FOR REHAB

Hollywood actor Jesse Metcalfe has voluntarily gone into rehab to fight against alcohol issues, a spokesperson confirmed.

The 28-year-old who shot to fame playing hunky gardener John Rowland in Desperate Housewives reportedly checked in after a week of heavy partying.

"On Monday, Jesse Metcalfe entered a rehab facility to deal with alcohol issues. He realised he had a problem and was anxious to deal with it immediately," a spokesperson confirmed.

Where Jesse, the current squeeze of Girls Aloud singer Nadine Coyle, is being treated and how long he will stay in rehab remain private. "The actor hopes that the media will allow him the privacy to deal properly with his treatment," the spokesperson added.

News of Jesse's stint in rehab comes just days after rumours began to circulate (again) about the actor's proposal to Nadine.

The pair met in Australia last year and quickly became smitten with each other despite the distance between them. Although the constant flights across the pond led to a brief break up in November, the couple have since made it up.

However, a source told the Daily Mail that a nuptial was on the cards any day soon saying: "They are extremely happy together and deal with a transatlantic love affair very well and so marriage is the next step for them."
