JERMAINE JACKSON ADDS TO CONCERT CONFUSION

JERMAINE JACKSON has added to the confusion surrounding the upcoming tribute concert for his brother MICHAEL - by insisting the King of Pop's gig "is not about name-dropping".
Jackson hosted three press conferences this week (beg07Sep09) in London, Vienna in Austria, and Berlin, Germany to promote the 26 September show and was expected to unveil a star-studded line-up.
But the gatherings have only served to fuel speculation the concert is still without any high profile acts, just weeks before it is due to take place in Vienna.
On Tuesday (08Sep09) Jackson appeared to name both Chris Brown and Mary J. Blige as participants, but representatives for both stars subsequently shot down his claims. Blige is now trying to re-arrange her schedule to be there, while it is not known whether Brown will be allowed to leave the U.S because of his ongoing legal wranglings over his recent assault conviction.
Reporters gathered for a third time in the German capital on Thursday (10Sep09), expecting some clarification from the Jackson clan, but Jermaine once again failed to clear up rumours of a faltering line-up.
The show's producer Georg Kindel, says, "The star is Michael Jackson, it's not about name-dropping and who else will be there. It seems that there is a lot of confusion regarding the confirmed talent for the tribute - we are rechecking and confirming each artist personally."
Jermaine adds, "It bothers me a great deal to have the type of negative wave that is coming from the States. This tribute is not about name-dropping, it's about honouring someone who gave his all to the world."
The line-up so far includes a string of low-profile artists including Sister Sledge and boyband US5. Another press conference has been announced for next week (beg14Sep09), which is expected to shed more light on the concert.
