JENKINS DENIES LOSING JOB OVER DRUG CLAIMS

British opera star KATHERINE JENKINS has blasted reports she has been axed as a rugby mascot for Wales as a result of her recent confession that she once took drugs
The Welsh singer stunned fans earlier this month (Nov08) when she admitted to using cocaine and ecstasy during her youth.
And Jenkins was said to have been ditched as the voice of Welsh rugby due to the revelations - meaning she will no longer sing before international matches in front of 70,000 sports fans.
But the mezzo soprano has denied she was dumped as a result of her wild past - insisting rugby chiefs simply opted for a choir instead.
And the star says she would be happy to perform again at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium, which she has done almost 30 times, despite the snub.
She says, "It has been well over a year since the Welsh Rugby Union adopted a choirs-only policy for its pre-match entertainment.
"Naturally, being a massive fan of Welsh rugby, if they asked me again I'd be more than happy to sing for them."
