JAZZ STAR HOLLAND SELLS PIANO FOR CHARITY

British jazz star and TV presenter JOOLS HOLLAND is selling his celebrity-graced piano for charity. The Yamaha GT7 has been used to accompany a host of musical greats including ERIC CLAPTON, SIR PAUL MCCARTNEY and SIR TOM JONES, but Holland now hopes the cash it'll raise will help disabled artists as part of the Drake Music Project. He says, "It's a piece of history and a piece of furniture. "Toms Jones, Paul MCCartney, SOLOMON BURKE, JEFF BECK and many others have been accompanied by this piano, played this piano, lent on this piano, placed drinks, notes, coats, hats, private implements on this piano during its working life." The instrument is expected to fetch up to $14,400 (GBP8,000) at auction later this year (06).
