JAY-Z'S BONO LESSONS
Jay-Z says he learned more about the art of performing by studying U2 frontman Bono.
Jay-Z used to be a "horrible" performer.
The 'Run This Town' singer had to study U2 singer Bono to learn what to do while he was onstage.
The rapper revealed: "These days, I'm the s**t, but I used to be a horrible performer. I was terrible, because I'm not really an animated guy and really move around, so I had to figure out a way how to convey my message and talk to people in compact movements, all the while, being entertaining. Right?
"There is a very thin line between not moving and being boring. To be a powerful performer like Bono. He doesn't move around, he's just a powerful performer. He knows how to exaggerate his movements.
"He knows how to have that conversation, without moving around much. I don't know if he moves...anywhere. He's a dynamic performer."
But when it comes to his voice, Jay-Z has never had any problems delivering an "amazing" performance.
He said: "That's what hip-hop is. You can't have emotion in the robotic voice, like I don't feel any thing. Then everyone sounds the same."
