JAY-Z: 'I HAVE NOT MET WITH SHYNE'

Hip-hop mogul JAY-Z has dismissed reports he has visited incarcerated rapper SHYNE to offer him a record deal when he is released from a New York prison later this year (09).
Shyne, real name Jamal Barrow, was convicted on charges of first degree assault and reckless endangerment in 2001, following a December 1999 shooting in Club New York, where he was partying with Sean 'Diddy' Combs and Jennifer Lopez. The incident left one woman with serious facial injuries.
The rapper is expected to walk free from Woodbourne Correctional Facility in Sullivan County on 6 October (09), after serving more than eight years of his 10-year sentence.
Jay-Z was alleged to be courting Shyne to bring him to his new Roc Nation record label upon his release - but the 99 Problems hitmaker insists there is no truth to the claims.
He tells New York radio station Hot 97, "Not true. Lie, gossip, whatever, it's not true."
However, Jay-Z admits he wouldn't be adverse to meeting with Shyne: "I'll be interested in the conversation, it's always a possibility but it just didn't happen."
Shyne was dropped from Diddy's Bad Boy Records in 2003.
