JAMIROQUAI star JAY KAY will celebrate the end of his record contract with SonyBMG this year (06), by launching his own range of menswear. The 36-year-old will sever ties with the giant after releasing Jamiroquai's Greatest Hits album in November, but he is already looking forward to his new venture. A source says, "Jay can't wait to say goodbye to the label and get on with his life as a free man. "He's got this big deal with Hugo Boss to design his own clothing line. It's casual stuff, jackets, slacks and driving gear called Jay Kay for Hugo and inspired by his love of fast cars. He was asked to come up with the kind of clothes he likes to wear while driving his Ferrari. "He hasn't shot the ad campaign yet, but it'll be coming out in November to coincide with the end of his deal with SonyBMG. "Unless they weigh in with an absolutely massive offer, Jay wants to move on to pastures new. He may bow out of music altogether for a while of just sign a record deal with an independent, leaving him time for other things."
