JAY KAY 'QUITTING MUSIC'
Jamiroquai frontman Jay Kay has said that he is quitting music as he has had enough of the industry.
He is said to no longer be with his record label Sony BMG and is now focussing on his personal life, including "finding a good woman".
Despite finding fame through hits such as Virtual Insanity and Cosmic Girl it seems that his success is not enough to keep him satisfied.
"I haven't been happy there for a while," he told the Daily Mirror. "I've had some ups and downs but in the end the downs were just too many. When we talked about me leaving, I jumped at the chance."
Part of his frustration with the industry has to do with his boredom and feeling that there is nothing he wants to create at the moment.
"I might be back if I get my inspiration again, but who knows," he said. "I'm bored. I don't want to go back on the road. We all need a rest to be honest. I don't need the money or a deal. One minute I would be promoting a single with one team and the next they brought different people in and expected me to go along with it.
"There was no way in hell I was doing that. I'm just tired of the format and wanted to call it a day with them."
Although no more records from Jay Kay may be coming our way in the future, he managed to create a record of another kind last night. Jamiroquai performed at a record-breaking 35,000 feet onboard a Boeing 757 with an official from the Guinness Book of Records present to record the feat.
