JAMIE OLIVER HATED SCHOOL
Jamie Oliver hated ''revolting'' reading and writing so much, he vowed never to do either again when he left school.
Jamie Oliver vowed never to read or write again after leaving school.
The multimillionaire chef - who suffers from learning disorder dyslexia, which causes sufferers to struggle with reading and spelling - has sold millions of copies of his popular cookery books but admits he was determined to turn his back on anything connected to education as a teenager.
He said: "It's ironic that the one thing I hated I sort of specialise in now. Almost 24 million copies, by someone who swore he'd never ever do any revolting reading and writing when he left school. It's funny how things work out."
Jamie - who has three daughters, Poppy, seven, Daisy, six, and Petal, six months, with wife Jools - doesn't believe academic achievements are essential for a successful working life.
He added: "What is education? A bunch of stuff that people think we should know.
"Ultimately, if you can put a wall up, if you can paint, if you can work with other people and, most important, if you find out what you are good at, that's the key."
