JADE GOODY'S WIDOWER JACK CONVICTED OF ASSAULT

Jack Tweed, the widower of the late Jade Goody, has been sentenced to 12 weeks in prison over the assault of a taxi driver.

Tweed, 21, who married cancer sufferer Goody before her death, was convicted in March at Epping magistrates' court of attacking Stephen Wilkins in Essex last May.

His conviction was his second for assault in six months.

Tweed already wears an electronic tag having been released on licence for a separate attack on a 16-year-old boy with a golf club, for which he was sentenced to 18 months in prison.

His curfew was relaxed in order to allow Tweed to spend his wedding night with former Big Brother star Goody, who died from cancer last month.

The attack on Mr Wilkins occurred after the cab driver had picked up Tweed, Michael Haskell and two unidentified females outside the Club 195 nightclub in Epping, Essex.
