JACKSON'S ALBUM OF POETRY POP

MICHAEL JACKSON has a secret album of pop songs inspired by the poetry of ROBERT BURNS, according to his lifelong pal DAVID GEST.
Gest claims the King Of Pop was so inspired by the bard's poems he decided to put the verses to music and record the project at his studio in California.
He says, "Our favourite poet in the world is Robbie Burns. Michael and I were originally going to do a musical on his life with Gene Kelly directing and Anthony Perkins as executive producer - but they both died.
"So Michael and I put all the poems to contemporary music in his studio in Encino.
"We did (Burns poems) Ae Fond Kiss, Tam O'Shanter and all that. We turned his work into show tunes. It is beautiful and I still have the recordings."
Gest, Liza Minnelli's ex-husband, adds of the Scottish poet: "Michael and I think of him as one of the most brilliant minds ever... He was great with women and writing great poetry."
