JACKASS STARS INSURED FOR DEATH
Hollywood star JOHNNY KNOXVILLE and his JACKASS: NUMBER TWO co-stars took out insurance for $7 million (GBP3.9 million) because they were so sure they'd die on set. Knoxville, along with co-stars BAM MARGERA and STEVE-O, admit their new movie stunts are the most dangerous to date and pleaded with the studio to pay out millions in case they died in the daredevil pranks. Knoxville says, "I came close to dying a few times. When the rocket exploded in one stunt - there was like a foot long metal rod that went right out next to my side. It was close!" Director JEFF TREMAINE says, "The casings for the rockets came shooting out the back and side. It could have gone right through him, it just missed! When we watched the footage afterwards, just frame by frame, it is very close. Tremaine adds, "The studio is like - well what do you need $7 million for? And I'm like well, you've got to insure these guys! You know. The tapes cost $7. The cameras are about $2000. After that, it's all insurance!"
