JACK WHITE PENS POEM FOR HOMETOWN
WHITE STRIPES frontman Jack White has penned an ode to his hometown of Detroit.
The rocker, who is currently enjoying success with his side project THE RACONTEURS, said his feelings about the city had previously been misrepresented, referring to an interview in which he called the Detroit music scene "super negative".
He wrote the poem for the Detroit Free Press in order to confirm his true feelings for the city.
"Those expressions of mine have never been a representation of my feelings about Detroit the city, a town that I have strong feelings about ... nor were they expressions about its citizens," said White.
White makes his sentiments for his hometown clear in his introduction for the poem, saying: "The Detroit that is in my heart."
Elsewhere, White recently criticised fans who booed AMY WINEHOUSE at Glastonbury, saying the singer was "underappreciated".
