IRWIN WIDOW DEFENDS BINDI SHOW

STEVE IRWIN's widow TERRI has defended her daughter Bindi's upcoming TV show, insisting her father would have wanted the eight-year-old to continue the family's tradition of combining animals and entertainment. Some critics claim Bindi is too young for the limelight, but Terri is adamant her daughter is content and confident on television and is following the Crocodile Hunter star's wishes. Steve Irwin was killed during a stingray attack off the Queensland coast in Australia in September (06). Speaking at the launch of Bindi: The Jungle Girl earlier today (25May07), Terri said, "I think he (Steve) would have said, 'Crikey mate, I couldn't wait for Bindi to take over.' Bindi's been filming with us since she first hatched. "It was a natural progression to be doing her own shows, and Steve was involved with the first seven episodes. He really enjoyed watching Bindi showcasing the wildlife that he worked with for so many years. It gave him great pleasure."

Terri, It's no ones place to be judge and jury over the way you raise your children. It's not like Bindi's show wasn't already in production when the terrible accident happened. It is obvious that Bindi is very comfortable in front of the cameras. I've watched you and Bindi on many intrviews and talk shows since Steve's passing and she is a natural, and it is very easy to see that she wants to carry on for Steve in promoting wildlife conservation. God bless you, Bindi and little Robert.

Way to go, Terri. Bindi is your daughter and you know what's best for her...not that you and Steve hadn't talked about her future and decided what was going to happen. I'm sure Steve will be up there smiling from ear to ear to see his baby carrying on his life's dream. You go, girl! Just remember, don't be surprised if Little Bob doesn't follow in his sister's footsteps...he didn't have his daddy as a roll model...and as surprising as it is, not all people have that special bond with animals...and it's not something you cultivate...it's just there. I miss him!!!!
