IRWIN COMMEMORATED ON STAMP ONE YEAR AFTER DEATH
Australian adventurer STEVE IRWIN has been commemorated on a postage stamp to mark the first anniversary of his death. The 44-year-old Crocodile Hunter, who was killed by a stingray in 2006 while filming a nature documentary on the Great Barrier Reef Down Under, is pictured on the stamps with his daughter Bindi, his son Bob, and a snake. The stamp, which was launched on Monday (05Nov07), is in collaboration with the Australian magazine New Idea. Proceeds from the sale of the AUS$0.50 ($0.46/GBP0.23) stamp will go to Irwin's conservation charity, Wildlife Warriors.
