IRONS' ACTING BOREDOM SPARKED CASTLE RESTORATION

British actor JEREMY IRONS spent six years slaving over the restoration of his Irish castle - because he was so bored of making movies.
Irons bought the 16th century Kilcoe castle in County Cork, Ireland in 1998 and admits he laboured over the old stone mansion merely to pass the time - as he had lost his passion for acting.
He says, "I did the castle because I was getting very bored with my film work, and I thought it was showing. So I wanted to do something that galvanised me, where there was risk and danger, and so I did the castle. After that, I worked up an appetite to go back to filming."
